Mr. Newell is a career entrepreneur opening The Grist Mill Restaurant in 1986 and Bruno’s of Saratoga in 1987. After opening 4 additional restaurant concepts in the Saratoga area, Mr. Newell concentrated on real estate development and investment. Working with SBA Towers in 1999, Mr. Newell became project director for a statewide development program for wireless telecommunication facilities. In 2002 Mr. Newell joined KeyBank National Association and became Vice-President of Corporate Real Estate and was elected Most Valuable Team Player 2003.
In 2004, Mr. Newell became an independent real estate investor and consultant. He owns Empire Commercial Real Estate, Inc and Field View Development, Inc with real estate holdings such as The KeyBank Building in downtown Cooperstown, NY. Mr. Newell specializes in financial analysis of real estate investments, commercial leases, site acquisitions, sale/leasebacks and 1031 Exchange transactions.
Mr. Newell holds a license as a NYS Real Estate Broker, and Certificates in Advanced Lease Negotiation, Advanced 1031 Exchanges and Commercial Financing and holds a Notary Public Office. Mr. Newell is also an avid antique sporting art collector, has published a book on the topic of antique duck decoys and is a frequent guest speaker at New York historical societies.
